SCHOOLS

Prune Hill Elementary is located just down the street and is the newest elementary school in the district. It boasts of a very tight community with a lot of parental involvement. The building is truly a sight to be seen. This multilevel building houses 22 classrooms, a large computer lab, music room, media center, gym and cafeteria.

Opened in 1996, Skyridge is a state-of-the-art facility that features a modern media center, large dining room, two gymnasiums, the district's central kitchen facility, and a weight-training building. With average WASL scores exceeding 80% the students here excel in reading and writing.

Camas High School is a new building that opened in fall of 2003 and houses all students in grades nine-twelve. The new facility allows students the latest in design and technology. This building features seven computer labs, 65 classrooms, two gymnasiums, a wrestling room, a weight room, an aerobics room, a career center, integrated science labs, a student-run credit union and student store, and an auditorium with a 650-person capacity.

RECREATION

From parks, to trail riding, to water skiing, to hiking, to golfing, to swimming, to outdoor sports, recreational opportunities abound in the Camas area.

Parks and Trails

Camas Parks and Recreation have made it a goal to preserve and enhance the quality of life through the provision of parks, recreational facilities, trails, and open spaces.

Summit at Columbia Vista will be connected to the 10-acre beautiful Ash Creek Park and trail corridor for all residents to enjoy. The trail will weave in and out of open spaces throughout the entire subdivision. Attributes may include water features, scenic views and exercise stations. This trail will also provide connections to Camas' T-5 trail system on Lacamas Lake. Improvements at the park site are slated to begin in Spring of 2007.

Golf

Camas Meadows Golf Course

This course is located just minutes from Summit at Columbia Vista. On this 18 hole, par 72 PGA championship course you'll find a range of features and terrain, from narrow tree-lined fairways to wide-open grassy meadows and wetlands, with an unlimited array of interesting elements that will add enjoyment to your game.

With unhindered views of the region's incredible and diverse scenery, Camas Meadows Golf Course challenges the best golfers while providing a great place for beginners to learn and improve.

Green Mountain Golf Course

This traditional northwestern links-style 18-hold course plays from 5,187 to 6,170 yards and a par of 72. Some of the fairways are open and some are tree-lined, and all vary in elevation. The greens are medium in size and moderate in speed. Three sets of tees are available to challenge a variety of handicaps. Water comes into play on twelve holes.

 

Lacamas Lake

Lacamas Lake is a fisher's paradise, with a nice mixture of bass, bluegill and perch. The park contains a 6-mile network of scenic hiking trails with many areas that are excellent for bird-watching. A multitude of photographic opportunities abound - especially in mid April, when the Camas Lilies are in bloom. An additional area of interest is the series rock formations located in the potholes, near the falls. Upland forests support variety of wildlife including deer, raccoon, beaver, coyote, osprey, bald eagles, and many other bird species.

Less than 10 minutes from Summit at Columbia Vista is the Lacamas Lake boat access area. Facilities at this site include launch and off-street parking.

RETAIL

Summit at Columbia Vista is conveniently located near two exciting shopping centers - Columbia Crossing at Mill Plain and Riverstone Marketplace.

Columbia Crossing is the most significant retail project to hit the area since 1980. The tenant mix includes Home-Depot, Pier One, Kohl's, Cost Plus, Bed Bath and Beyond, Best Buy, Peet's Coffee and several eateries.

A beautifully constructed QFC is the cornerstone of the Riverstone Marketplace shopping center. This gourmet grocer features a large natural foods section along with an onsite bakery, florist, and full deli. The Riverstone Marketplace also includes Roots restaurant, 360 Pizza, the Diva Den, and many other shops to conveniently meet all of your needs.
